About booksaremycwtches

Hi

My name is Susan and I live in Wales capital city Cardiff. I’ve loved reading since a child and simply can’t imagine my life without being surrounded by books and people who love books.

My taste is wide ranging. It would probably be easier to tell you about the books I don’t like. No horror because I don’t like being scared. Other than that, I would read most anything, or at least give it a fair go.

I hope you enjoy by book blog and many thanks to anyone who takes the time to read.

I can be followed on Twitter at @Walescrazy

If your wondering about the meaning of the cwtch in the title, then let me explain. It’s the Welsh word for a hug that’s imbued with love, it’s also a place where you feel safe. Books and reading have always been my safe place and hence the title of my book blog.

    Hi Sue
Here is an animation to accompany the first Chapter of Barry and the Chronicles.
    I wrote all the music.
Apart from the book, which is a description of what happens as Barry grows up and matures, there are lots of little “ stand- alone” stories to mirror Chapter 1 ; these would form the ongoing tales.
Let me know if I can be of more help in any way and thanks fo reading the book.
    Best Regards
    Alun

    Hi Susan,
My new book, “City of Secrets” is aimed at 8-12 year olds and tells the story of Letty Parker. She may be only twelve years old but like her friends Jeb and Mango, she makes her own living. Letty earns her money selling pies, until her customers start to go missing. The authorities, however, are not interested in what happens to street children and it is left to Letty to confront the dark powers behind their disappearance and organise a rescue.
“City of Secrets” is set in an alternative, magical Bristol where dragons and gargoyles delight in the dark doings of the two gangs that run the city and will be published by Penkhull Press in October 2018.
My beta-readers loved “Letty’s quirky but philosophical attitude” and “the idea that sinister things like eels and awesome creatures like dragons inhabit the city during the hours of darkness.” They also liked the Victorian atmosphere and were carried along by the story.
Book bloggers make such a huge difference to the success of failure of a book, so if this is your sort of book and would like to review it I can send you a proof copy in Word, PDF or a mobi file.
Please can you let me know on misha.herwin@btopenworld.com
    All the best,

    Misha

    Dear Susan,

Would you be interested in reviewing a steampunk-inspired, middle-grade, fantasy adventure called ‘The Shadow Breaker’? It tells the story of a young girl who accidentally falls into another dimension and embarks on a quest to find her way home.

If so, could you please email me for a free copy, at: stevenriversauthor@gmail.com

    Thanks,

    Steven

    Hi Susan,

I hope you are well. I am contacting you on behalf of my company Hobeck Books. We follow each other on Twitter so you may be aware that we have recently signed up author A B Morgan. Alison gave me your name as a past reviewer of her previous books so that is why I am contacting you now. She has written a book for us which is publishing in January 2021 and I wonder whether you would be interested in reading and possibly reviewing it for us. It is the first in a new series she is writing for us to be called Over Her Dead Body. If you would be interested, please do get in touch with me hobeckbooks@gmail.com.

    With best wishes

    Rebecca
